Just a Little to Go On
There is at times
Very little to go on,
To hope,
To dream,
To capture fragile forms
Of joy and beauty –
Very little to go on,
To somehow last out the night.
Going across water, as it were,
Ignorant of buoyancy:
Holding one’s breath hard
For fear of fatality.
In faith,
With just a little to go on,
Lasting out,
Just holding on.
